Psalm 37:37 says, “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” This verse is basically saying that following Jesus ensures peace on earth and after! Following the commandments of God, daily reading His Word, and loving others guarantees that your ending will be and ending full of peace.

It can be scary to think about “the end” I know! But having Jesus means that we’ll be rejoicing when the end comes! Isaiah 66:14 ensures that, “When you see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the hand of the LORD will be revealed to His servants, but His wrath will be shown to His enemies”. The “end” is supposed to be good for us because we have chosen Jesus as our Savior (Luke 10;42), and His protection covers us always.

Jeremiah 29:11 is famous for reminding us that God wants to give us an “expected end”. And Jesus tells us that He came so we could have “life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). God’s ultimate plan for your life is to have a fulfilled life, with a very happy ending! I absolutely love a happy ending, and because our ending is with Jesus, it’ll also be a glorious beginning!

In Luke 2, Jesus is finally born, and the angels in heaven declare “Peace on Earth” (v.14). The idea of God’s peace being with us, was prophesized in Isaiah (9:6 “Prince of peace”). Later, Jesus reassures the disciples that He has left us His peace that takes away fear (John 14:37). Finally, in Revelation God promises to “wipe away every tear” (21:4) and that means no more crying, hurting, or feeling regret. Because when you have peace, you don’t even acknowledge the negativity!

When you have Jesus, you have the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). God’s peace is something that cannot be bought, and it is in His peace that we can rest. Keep holding on to Him, and you will not only have peace right now, but an eternal peace…an Ending of Peace.
