You Belong to Jesus

If you feel as though you don’t belong, remember that you will always belong to Jesus!

God chose you for a reason! You are not alone. You have potential, strength, love, encouragement, gifts, comfort, all that you need! When you feel as though you are alone, or that no one understands you…Jesus does, because you belong to Him!

Isaiah 43:1 says this: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (NIV Bible).  

We have been thought of, created, and brought back to life because of Jesus. His sacrifice on the cross and resurrection is what makes us new again and makes us part of His eternal family (Romans 8:16-17).When you belong to Jesus, you belong to joy, peace, love, and everything that is good! We are all people who are part of God’s plan (Matthew 5:45), and He is able to work everything out for us when we give ourselves to Him (Romans 8:28). So, take heart, and be encouraged…you belong to Jesus, and He sees you where you are!

Just like God named the stars of the sky (Psalm 147:4), He named you with a purpose in mind. Just like He created the birds to eat, and the lilies to grow, He created you so that He could provide for you and make you into the person He called you to be! (Matthew 6:26-29). And whatever God creates, belongs ultimately to Him (Psalm 24:1).

There are some moments we feel we don’t belong somewhere, and that’s okay. This world is not our eternal home, because we are preparing to be with Jesus in heaven (1 Corinthians 9:24-25; Revelation 21:3-5). Those feelings you have are NOT invalid. If anything, as saved persons, those feelings are an indicator that we belong somewhere else—with Jesus!

This week, try to write down at least three things God has done to show you that you are His. I’ll start you off with one: He woke you up this morning!

When you belong to Jesus, you can be at peace anywhere that you don’t.
