· 2 Corinthians 10:4
· Ephesians 6:11-18
The Accuser wants us to think that we aren’t strong enough. But we are strong enough with God. 1 Corinthians 10:4 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” In fact, the weapons we use when working with God are literally God’s own name- Shaddai! Shaddai in Hebrew means “Almighty” as in God Almighty. Almighty in turn, is an adjective which describes “complete power” or “omnipotent”.
So, our weapons we use to oppose the Accuser are greater than anything on earth. They are well to pull down strongholds. “Strongholds” in Hebrew is the word “metsad” which is another word for fortress or defense. Usually, we think of God as our refuge and defense, or strong tower. And in 2 Corinthians, the word shows us that the only thing that can bring down such a defense, is God. Not the Accuser, not spiritual powers, not even that person at your job that’s working your last nerve! God is the ultimate final boss, and He cannot be defeated.
You may be thinking, “So what are our weapons?” Well in Ephesians 6, we are reminded that our fights here on earth are not earthly at all, but spiritual warfare that is constantly trying to get us. Ephesians tells us to put on the armor of God, and to use only two weapons—one defensive and one offensive: the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:10-18). With these, we are able to continue on in our battle against the Accuser when he brings his attacks.
So, the next time you think about how God is helping you fight your battles, remember that the weapons you use are enough to break down even the toughest wall, the hardest test, or the evilest of spiritual demons.
Your weapons in God are weapons of God, able to defeat anything.
Ephesians 6:10 “…Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
