Matthew 14:29-32 (KJV)
"...And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? And when they came into the ship, the wind ceased."
Peter walking on the water is the equivalent to us living during the end times. Right now in this world, there is corruption, abuse, famine, poverty, war, and violence. Leaders are not leading. Families are not loving. We have debt, hurt, anger, lust, pain, and problems! Everything seems to be going wrong, and we seem to be constantly sinking. But when we are saved by Jesus, we are free, even during the storm. And when Jesus is finally reconciled with us on Rapture Day, there will be everlasting peace, and no more storms.
In Revelation 21:4, the New Jerusalem is described as a place where God "will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death...for the former things are passed away."
When that glorious Day comes, and we are reunited with our Father, the storm and all pain, fear, doubt that came with it, will be ceased forever.
But just because you see and have Jesus with you doesn't mean the storm will end immediately. The scripture says when Peter and Jesus reached the boat is when the storm stopped. You have to walk with Jesus until the end to get rid of the storms. But you will still have His peace (John 14:27; Philippians 4:7). You can experience everlasting peace while here on earth, and that only prepares you for when there will be nothing but peace in Heaven with the Lord.
Even though it may take a while for the storm to end, Jesus will see you through and be with you until he finally joins you on that boat, and the storm will end forever.
